A bit of New Year's thoughts...

The New Year came and went for us. Money is tight so hubby and I made virgin Pina Coladas and stayed home. The kids were in bed at their usual hours and we just hung out. I have this weird thing about kissing the people you love at the stroke of midnight so hubby and I kissed then ran feverishly around to kiss the kids. It was hilarious since we have to be as quiet as church mice. Stepping on a squeaky spot on the floor, closing the door too hard, or a simple sneeze would wake both babies. So we ran back and forth hopping over the squeaky spots, closing the door fast but oh so gently, and making sure that any sneezes were put on hold until we were done. It was a good night.
I didn't even make any "resolutions" this year. I figured that resolutions were eventually made to be broken and anything so important that I needed to resolve to would need to be a New Year's promise instead.
So here are my promises for 2009:
1. I will be a better mom. I plan to play with my toddler more, I plan to take them outside every single day, I plan to feed them the most nutritious foods only, I plan to buy more wraps for snuggling G in. ( That's us in a sleepy wrap...ah I will miss these newborn snuggles)
2. I will be a better wife. I will try to listen to him more, I will try to be less sarcastic, I will try not to roll my eyes (this one might be hard...I mean, I am a puerto rican, new yorker for crying out loud)
3. I will expand my crafting world and yet appeal to ME. I have always tried different crafts but the only way that I could get hubby to be ok with the money I put into it was if I planned on selling it. I will do many of my crafty stuff for me from now on and I will gift or keep it as I please.
4. I want to expand my business. I LOVE selling my jewelry. There is nothing better than someone adorning themselves with something that contains a bit of your heart in it. I keep thinking I may sell more soap one day too.
5. I will lose weight. (What a cliche, I know, I know) I have already started and lost 20 lbs so far. My beloved friend says it's from feeding Moose (the nickname she affectionately gave my huge baby G, teehee). She is right but I have been doing some excersizing too...booyah. I just need to keep it up!
6. My last promise...I will make 2009 the best year ever.

I remember your mom and I doing the same scenario on new years eve..running around feverishly trying to kiss all of you without waking the crew. The resolutions you made were promising but there is one you will surely break and that is the eye rolling..eventually the puerto rican eye will roll no matter what you do..but remember you are half german and that eye will stay rock steady..should be an interesting look for 09...and I dont even think anyone witnessing the DIS could do anything except LAUGH..Happy New Year baby!!!
